Gears of War E-Day sold more on Steam than on Xbox

Analyst estimates for the first week of Gears of War: E-Day: about 230,000 copies sold, with roughly 168,000 on Steam and 62,000 on Xbox (console and PC store). Around 1.7 million people played it through Game Pass, and more than 722,000 of them paid $30 for the Premium upgrade that unlocked five days of early access. The analyst called the $70 version "functionally dead on Xbox". The counterpoint: not everyone who plays a game on Game Pass would have bought it at full price.
